4:08 p.m. — A resident of Rice Road called with concern about a neighbor’s dog being loose in the roadway. Animal Control was notified.
6:09 p.m. — A Glezen Lane resident called about the storm drains being clogged, causing the road to flood.
Wednesday, July 22
5:31 p.m. — A flood at Sunrise Assisted Living, 285 Commonwealth Road, occurred when a plumber was doing some work in one of the rooms; the flood spread into the electrical room. When the backup generator failed, residents were evacuated to nearby hotels.
6:08 p.m. — A caller from Pineridge and Woodland roads reported that a manhole cover had been removed, creating a road hazard. The cover was put back in place. DPW was notified that this is an ongoing problem.
6:36 p.m. — A telephone call from Wayland Hills Road reported that a tree branch had broken off and was leaning on wires, causing them to arc and smoke. Public Safety stated that power was out in the area. The electric company was updated.
Thursday, July 23
2:12 p.m. — A 911 call from Cochituate Road near Millbrook Road reported that a bicyclist riding through an intersection had struck the side of a motor vehicle that had gone through the intersection. The bicyclist had minor injuries and was transported to Newton-Wellesley Hospital.
3:36 p.m. — A report came in by a 911 call that there was a tree across some wires just east of Wayland Center on Boston Post Road, blocking the road. Eversource was notified, and cones and detour signs were provided by the highway department until the road was reopened at 5:32 p.m.
Friday, July 24
3:08 p.m. — A caller from Wheelock Road stated that a man was going door to door soliciting for Fox Pest Control but with no permit. The party was advised to obtain proper permits required by the town.
7:09 p.m. — An employee of CVS Pharmacy, 325 Boston Post Road, reported an incident of shoplifting.
Saturday, July 25
12:15 a.m. — A caller reported that a car on Boston Post Road near the town line with Weston was being driven erratically and crossing the double yellow lines. Following a stop, the driver, Edgar Ramirez-Saravia, 42, of Hudson, was arrested for OUI. The vehicle was towed to State Road Auto Body.
12:10 p.m. — A 911 call reported a traffic accident at Boston Post Road and Old Connecticut Path involving four vehicles. Three people were transported to hospitals with injuries, and their vehicles were towed to State Road Auto Body.
Sunday, July 26
9:21 a.m. — A call from Loker Street reported that an owl was stuck in a soccer net behind Loker School. An officer was able to free the owl, which flew into another net and appeared to be injured. Although the dog officer was contacted to assist, the owl shortly after flew off into the woods.
Monday, July 27
11:43 a.m. — A call from Russell’s Garden Center, 397 Boston Post Road, reported that a woman had put flowers/plants into her car, saying she was coming back to pay, and then got into her vehicle and left. The driver was not found.
11:04 a.m. — Following a motor vehicle stop on Main Street at Maple Street, the vehicle, which was not properly registered in Massachusetts, was impounded and towed to State Road Auto Body.
4:58 p.m. — A call from Rice Road reported an injured deer in the roadway. The responding officer confirmed the deer was dead and notified the Animal Control officer.
5:19 p.m. — A 911 call reported a traffic accident on Boston Post Road near the Sudbury line. Two vehicles were involved; one injured person was transported to Newton-Wellesley Hospital.
5:30 p.m. — Following a motor vehicle stop the driver, David Cardona, 30, of Framingham, was arrested on a warrant and was taken to the station. He was also charged with failure to stop/yield.
5:58 p.m. — An officer assisted with removing sheetrock from the roadway on Main Street at Commonwealth Road; the material had fallen from a passing truck.
7:44 p.m. — A caller from Commonwealth Road and Willowbrook Drive reported finding four kittens on the sidewalk. They were gathered and brought to the station to be picked up by the Animal Control Officer.

Wednesday, July 29
6:16 a.m. — Callers from Stonebridge Road stated that a tree had fallen; the Fire Department found that both primary and secondary wires had been pulled down. The road was closed in both directions and Eversource was notified.
4:52 p.m. — A call from Old Sudbury Road near Glezen Lane reported that a transformer had blown. The electric company and water department were notified.
Thursday, July 30
5:20 a.m. — A caller from Riverview Circle was concerned about a tree that was in the road. The responding officer confirmed that wires were pulled down and notified Eversource.
7:04 a.m. — A resident of Three Ponds Road called to report that a tree had fallen on the roadway and taken down some wires. Police taped off the area and notified Eversource.
7:20 p.m. — A caller from Chestnut Road was concerned about a young man knocking on her door; she stated that he had also done so earlier in the day. The responding officer advised the man of town bylaws concerning solicitors and transported him to Starbucks.
7:53 p.m. — A two-vehicle traffic accident on Old Connecticut Path near Stonebridge Road was called in by 911.
10:27 p.m. — A resident of Lake Shore Drive called 911 to report hearing a loud bang, followed by power going out in the area. The cause was a blown transformer; Eversource was notified.

Saturday, Aug. 1
6:00 a.m. — A caller from the Terrain construction site on Boston Post Road reported that some equipment had been stolen overnight.
8:08 a.m. — A police officer found garbage dumped in the middle of Cochituate Road; he moved it to the side of the road and called DPW for pick up after the weekend.
12:34 p.m. — A 911 call reported a traffic accident at the Gulf Gas Station, 28 Boston Post Road, involving three vehicles. There were no injuries.
12:43 p.m. — A person came to the station to talk with an officer in regards to a scam in which money was transferred.
Sunday, Aug. 2
12:04 a.m. — A 911 caller from a house on Hill Street reported their light switches were smoking and flickering. The Fire Department reported a possible power surge or brown out; Eversource was contacted. The electrical inspector called for the seven residents to be temporarily displaced; Red Cross was contacted for temporary housing assistance.
8:10 a.m. — A caller from Loring Lane reported two large trees blocking the road. Police pulled them to the side and DPW was notified.
11:00 p.m. — A report from a 911 caller said that a car had struck a tree along Commonwealth Road. One person was transported to MetroWest Medical Center; DPW and Verizon were notified.
7:50 a.m. — A caller from Rolling Lane concerned the Water Department hitting a gas line. No odor of gas was detected, but National Grid was called to the scene.
2:18 p.m. — A phone call was received from Claypit Hill Road reporting an odor of natural gas. The Fire Department measured no level of gas, but the gas company was notified.
3:50 p.m. — A motor vehicle crash occurred on Commonwealth Avenue and was called in by 911. Two cars were involved, and one person was transported to Emerson Hospital.
