A little more than one in four registered Wayland voters took part in the state primary elections on Sept. 1 in which several races were uncontested

Statewide, Democratic Sen. Ed Markey defeated U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton as the candidate for junior U.S. Senator. State Democratic Sen. Jamie Eldridge and Republican Tim Shea each advanced to November’s Middlesex and Worcester state Senate seat race, and Mara Dolan outdistanced Margie Palladino in the Massachusetts Governor’s Council 3rd District race.

Wayland totals followed those results — Markey over Moulton (1,454 to 1,164), Eldridge over Shea (2,046 to 223), and Dolan over Palladino (1,592 to 604). Twenty-seven percent (2,982 of 10,678) of Wayland registered voters cast ballots. For complete results, visit waylandpost.org.
